The Leeds Metropolitan University conferred Shilpa Shetty an honorary doctorate at a student graduation ceremony on last Wednesday. Shilpa's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar says that the actor's title has been given in recognition of Shilpa's 'outstanding contribution to cultural diversity and good relations between the people of UK and India.
Would she like to be called 'Dr Shilpa Shetty'? "Plain old Shilpa will do just fine! What makes this honor double special for me is the fact that I share this privileged title with stalwarts like Amitji, Shabanaji and Yashji, who are all previous recipients." says Shilpa. She is ready to start rehearsals with Ganesh Hegde for 'Miss Bollywood - my musical'. 'Not just UK, but we plan to tour with the musical to other places as well, like Germany, where we are planning 60 performances," shares she.
