Nothing succeeds like Success for Shilpa. Yes, Shilpa Shetty's new found success has wiped the smile off her detractors' face.

In fact, the last four years have been extremely lucky for Shilpa. The actress won the Big Brother reality show. She beat top celebrities that too under circumstances where the chances of winning were slim. There was no looking back after that. Shilpa's victory at the Big Brother reality show opened new doors and avenues for her. She was instantly roped in for the lead in London's Broadway play that broke all box-office records.

Besides material success, there was spiritual progress too. Shilpa became the first Indian actress to start her own Yoga DVD to share the benefits of age old Indian therapy and its healing powers with all the people of the world.

Back to Mumbai from London, Shilpa flagged off her production banner S2 stands for but of course, Shilpa Shetty, much to the envy of her rivals. The actress is all set to launch her production's first venture and which is expected to hit the floors soon.

Nothing succeeds like success they say and the adage seems absolutely apt for Shilpa!

Shilpa Shetty hosts Big Boss Season 2

Mumbai (ANI): Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is all set to make television debut as a host with a reality television show Bigg Boss. The show Bigg Boss is India's take on the reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother. The announcement that 33-year-old actress had agreed to host the second season of the reality show was made at a party hosted by newly launched television channel Colors on Wednesday. The reality show Bigg Boss requires a set of celebrities unknown to each other aiming to stay under one roof for 85 days without accompaniments of normal life. In January last year, Shetty beat 13 Celebrity Big Brother contestants, including television personality Jade Goody and some other housemates whose treatment of Shetty generated thousands of complaints, dominated headlines and even prompted a sponsor of the show to pull out.

Speaking to the media about her participation in Celebrity Big Brother show Shilpa said, "I went (to participate in Big Brother) with a mindset that I have nothing to fear and what''s the big deal, whole life I have been an actress and I have been in front of the cameras and I have nothing to hide. Honestly I also felt that I''ll be eliminated in the first round and I still lasted I don''t know how. But I feel being in Big Brother house teaches you a lot."

However, about her television debut Shilpa added, "See I will be able to empathize with the people in the house better because I have been through the experience and I know what they will be going through at that point of time. So I think it will be easier for me to relate to them and we are all human beings so I think I''m going to try and make it (hosting of the Bigg Boss show) entertaining with a human touch."

The Indian version Bigg Boss, which was first aired on popular Indian channel in November 2006, follows the international format of the reality TV show. Participants from Bollywood and television industry spend several days cooped up in a specially designed house under 24-hour surveillance, with no access to telephones or television. Each week, one of them was voted out and Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi hosted the first season of this show. Second season of the reality show Bigg Boss would premiere on a private channel in August this year.

Bollywood stars and lucky charms

Bollywood has become quite progressive in terms of its story lines and technical aspects. Nevertheless, when it comes to belief in superstitions, there is no leaving behind the stars. With rising competition in the market, one cannot really blame them but then isn’t canceling ones shoot owing to a superstition, taking it too far? We asked a bunch of actors if they had any blind belief in things or had any lucky charms and here is what they had to say:

Shaahid Kapur: “While I don’t believe in lucky charms, I am particular about the way I wear my shoes. I will always put my right shoe before the left one.”

Vidya Balan: (Always seen with a bag gifted to her by Aziz Mirza’s son) “I think whatever gift is given with a lot of affection is always lucky. I can’t a name a tangible luck that the bag has brought but it has definitely brought a lot of positivity.”

Adhyayan Suman: “I am very emotional about the armlet I have. It was given to me by my parents and I love it.”

Amita Pathak: “The armlet that I wear was given to me by my brother. I make it a point to always wear it. Once we had to go to Ladakh for shooting and forgot my armlet in Mumbai. I refused to shoot till I got it back.”

Nakul Mehta: “My parents’ good wish is my lucky charm.”

Wedding talk upsets Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty is shocked to hear that she is married. A report on a website has published a picture of Shilpa’s visit to the Shirdi’s Sai Baba Temple this week along with her family and boyfriend Raj Kundra, thus raising speculation that the actress has secretly married him.

This is what Shilpa’s spokesperson had to say when contacted, "It is not true. Apart from misreporting, the piece is accompanied by dirty and derogatory comments by various surfers on a discussion board below the write-up, adding insult to injury for Shilpa. Many of these comments are lewd and bring shame to our culture. It is surprising how a respectable website has allowed such vulgar comments to be put up without scrutinising them."

Seeking an apology from the website, the publicist has already intimated the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell and added that Shilpa may file a case for defamation if prompt action is not taken by the website.

Shilpa Shetty, the true 'Beauty with Brains'

The graceful Diva, Shilpa Shetty is surely on a mission, as she enrolled herself in the 'Dove Self-Esteem Fund' campaign this week in UK to raise the self-esteem of youngsters all over the world.

The actress took the first initiative as she joined an educational workshop called BodyTalk at Sebright Primary School in London and as she delivered a personality development lecture to the youngsters there, she says, "There have been moments in my career where I have struggled with self-esteem, so I'm really pleased to be doing this workshop. As a person in the public eye, I understand the important role I can play in making a difference to the way young people feel about themselves".

A very popular personality in UK, following her success at 'Big Brother', the actress used her intellect in the right direction and inspired the future generation to move ahead and face the world.
